The Activity Center for Older Adults (ACOA) provides educational and recreational programs and activities for older adults. It serves as a centralized meeting place for senior citizens in the City of La Porte and the surrounding community. Services include tax return preparation assistance, a foot care clinic provided by the VNA, health screenings, craft classes, health care presentations, recreational activities and volunteer opportunities.

For a small fee of $17.00 you can become a member of ACOA and receive the benefits only members can enjoy. A membership includes all events offered on the monthly calendar, $5.00 off of Day Trips through First Travel, Free Tax Assistance for Seniors every year, and 10% discount on the rental of ACOA. Also, Wendy’s, Christo’s and Round the Clock will give a 10% discount for all members.

Swanson Activity Center for Older Adults offers two large rooms on each floor that will hold up to 100 people each. Access to a full kitchen is also available for a small fee.
