Access Center

Swanson Center has made a commitment to serving our community. We believe we have created a process which aids in removing many of the barriers hindering access to treatment. Historically we have seen timely access to initiate treatment services can be one of the greatest hurdles someone may face. Our Access Center was designed to meet the needs of those seeking care and enable them to begin the treatment process.

Access Center enables anyone seeking treatment the ability to walk in at designated locations during specified times and begin the registration process. Our goal is to provide an intake to each person on the same day they began this process. Our registration process begins by having you complete some required forms. After the forms have been completed you will meet with a staff member to begin the orientation process. This process includes reviewing some of the forms you’ve completed as well as a bit more information gathering. Once registered and oriented you will be given the option of waiting to meet with an Access Center Intake Therapist or you may choose to make an appointment for a later date and time. When you meet with an Access Center Intake Therapist they will provide an evaluation and determine your level of need. After determining your level of need, the Access Center Intake Therapist will make recommendations and facilitate getting you a follow-up appointment.

Important Note

Intakes are provided in the order of registration and the process takes approximately two hours.

In order to make the registration and orientation process as efficient as possible we ask you to bring a picture ID, proof of insurance [if applicable], proof of income, referrals, and/or proof of guardianship.

If you already have insurance, your policy may pay for all or part of our services. We will submit all insurance claims on your behalf.

We proudly serve as a provider for most major HMO and PPO plans. Swanson Center accepts all Medicare and Medicaid coverage.

You may be eligible for assistance with your payments. In conjunction with the State of Indiana, Swanson Center offers a fee subsidy for those who may not have the ability to pay. Your financial situation will be evaluated prior to your initial session to determine your eligibility for this program.

We accept cash, checks and credit cards.

You asked we listened. Previously we had intake wait times of nearly 36 days; now it’s approximately 3. By listening to you, our community, we’ve been able to increase access to treatment for everyone.

Dan Peck, Executive Director & CEO

Through our Access Center, we’re now offering same-day intake services which has decreased our initial contact to intake by over 85% and we’re now in a better position to serve our community. You asked we listened.
