SUMMARY:
As a member of a multidisciplinary team, clinical psychologists perform key client services such as client intakes; treatment and discharge planning; individual, group, and family therapy; follow-up activities; psychological testing; and an array of other tasks within Indiana’s scope of practice for psychologists.
QUALIFICATIONS/DEGREE REQUIREMENTS:
Must possess a Ph.D. in Psychology, Psy.D. or Ed.D. with an Indiana license to practice psychology. Health service provider in psychology (HSPP) endorsement is preferred.
COMPETENCIES:
- Able to document services and activities
- Can ascertain client complaints
- Can identify and report sentinel events and ethical violations
- Able to accurately explain treatment strategies
- Can describe scope of practice
- Can analyze information and draw reasonable conclusions
- Can perform psychosocial evaluations using the DSM-V
- Can use appraisal instruments as an aid in treatment planning
- Can apply psychotherapeutic techniques
